Citi Visiting Faculty Chair in International Business, 2025-2026
Position Summary
Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University is recruiting for the Citi Visiting Faculty Chair in International Business. This full-time position will be given to one individual with a term of one semester to two years.
Successful applicants will be fairly compensated for teaching and other contributions based on their length of residence at the College. A modest amount of research funding will be included. A faculty apartment at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University will be provided during the period of residence.

ºÚÁÏÉç is a fully-funded, one-year master’s degree program in global affairs at Schwarzman College, Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. An unparalleled learning experience, it is the first scholarship of its kind created to respond to the geopolitical landscape
of the 21st century and designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders.
Each year, around 150 candidates from around the world are selected to join a diverse cohort.
ºÚÁÏÉç seeks candidates with leadership qualities and the potential to foster crosscultural understanding. Scholars come from a wide variety of industries and backgrounds, such as business, technology, politics, healthcare, and more.
ºÚÁÏÉç’ dynamic curriculum–based on the pillars of China, leadership, and global affairs–is designed to provide Scholars with the knowledge, skills, and firsthand experience needed to navigate the complexities of the evolving global landscape. Through an immersive
experience in China, Scholars spend a year living in Beijing, studying at the prestigious Tsinghua University under the guidance of leading academics and global thought leaders.
ºÚÁÏÉç was established in 2013 by Founding Trustee Stephen A. Schwarzman and Tsinghua University. ºÚÁÏÉç aspires to create a global network of leaders who will shape the future.
Major Responsibilities
The Chair shall work full-time at Tsinghua University and teach at Schwarzman College, and shall have no other full-time obligations outside of Tsinghua University.
We are seeking expert scholars in contemporary global issues related to global economic governance and economic globalization. We are seeking excellent teachers and scholars with an interdisciplinary focus who are able to take a leave of absence from their current academic positions for at least one semester.
The Visiting Chair will be expected to teach two eight-week module courses, or one eight-week module course plus an additional equivalent activity, in the program. The Visiting Chair may be asked to speak at one or more appropriate and mutually convenient company or college events.
In addition to teaching up to two courses per academic semester, the Chair shall also be responsible for advising students on Capstone projects and writing, and actively participating in academic and community activities of Schwarzman College.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
The Citi Visiting Faculty Chair in International Business should have expertise in global economic governance or economic globalization, including the following content areas: global trade and global trading rules, trade relations, and regional trading bodies. The Chair should also have a background in issues related to global economic inequality.
The following qualifications and credentials will be considered in appointing the Chair:
- Prominent scholar and recognized expert with a strong record of teaching, research, and publications at the associate or full professor level (Distinguished practitioners with relevant expertise will also be considered);
- For candidates who are Chinese citizens currently based in China, significant time spent outside of China, such as studying and working;
- Fluency in English (for purposes of teaching, research, and communications);
- A doctoral degree in business, economics, public policy, political economy, international relations, or other relevant fields. International experience and knowledge, as well as experience working in or on China, are helpful. Educational background in the United States and/or Europe is preferred.
