Cybersecurity And Global Affairs
The world is changing rapidly and understanding the ways that digital technologies impact the global economy, national security, critical infrastructures, and information integrity is an essential skill for future leaders. This module is structured around key developments in cybersecurity and their impact on global affairs. Through lectures, seminars, and workshops, we explore some of the most important factors that complicate cybersecurity at the international level. Understanding how social, technical, economic, and diplomatic factors combine to enhance or undermine more secure systems can provide insight into how states approach the common goal of deploying emerging technologies to improve the human condition and respond to challenges of sustainability, equity, and security. The basic premise of the module is that cybersecurity is much more than a technical problem and the solutions require interdisciplinary thinking that can accommodate diverse perspectives and objectives.
