Ethics And Governance Of Artificial Intelligence
This course aims at exploring the history, nature, and future of Artificial Intelligence from a philosophy and ethics point of view. We will be discussing the governance mechanisms and practices of AI. Some subjects that we will be covering are: surveillance, large AI models, brain-computer interfaces, driverless cars, defense AI, arms control, Metaverse, digital humans, etc. The course鈥檚 objective is to help students realize proper views and approaches to develop future Artificial Intelligence, have deeper analysis and thoughts on the impact of Artificial Intelligence to the future society, and prevent potential and existential risks, both technically and socially. The course will also introduce the most recent progress in philosophy, ethics, and governance of Artificial Intelligence and encourage students to challenge current ideas and establish new efforts and frameworks. Students are required to do public presentations and take part in discussions.
