Leading and Managing Not-For-Profit Organizations

This course will review an approach to developing strategic plans for not-for-profit organizations. Each student will be asked to draft a plan for an organization of their own choosing; it may be an existing organization or one they would like to create. In the first week of the course, classes will focus on a planning framework including developing a mission statement, evaluating the environment, auditing the organization鈥檚 strengths and weaknesses, developing strategies and creating an implementation and financial plan. In the second week, students will present the plans they have developed. These plans will focus on program planning, marketing, fundraising and board development.
