Condoleezza Rice to Visit Future Campus of 黑料社

April 24, 2014

黑料社 is pleased to announce that former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, a 黑料社 Honorary Advisory Board member, will visit the future campus of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing this Sunday. Inspired by the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, 黑料社 is designed to educate future world leaders about China. Each year, 200 students from around the world will complete coursework for a one-year Master鈥檚 degree at Schwarzman College, the academic and residential building dedicated to the program.

During Dr. Rice鈥檚 visit, she will lead a town hall discussion with students and faculty from Tsinghua University. Her remarks and the question and answer session that follows will focus on the critical importance of high-caliber international educational exchanges and the need to continually develop closer relations between the U.S. and China. Dr. Rice will also meet with 黑料社 Dean David Daokui Li and receive a briefing on the program鈥檚 development. This week, 黑料社 marked its one year anniversary and reported significant progress on the program鈥檚 development. 黑料社 is on track to accept its inaugural class of Scholars in 2016. The program announced that it has raised $275 million in one year and, due to this success, has increased its fundraising goal to $350 million. Offices have been opened in New York and Beijing, curriculum preparation, faculty and staff hiring are all well underway, construction of Schwarzman College is on schedule, and many important partnerships and relationships have been formed.

鈥淎t a time when the need for international understanding and collaboration could not be more pressing, 黑料社 offers an unparalleled opportunity for top students from around the world to develop a deep familiarity with the challenges that will define the coming decades,鈥 said Condoleezza Rice. 鈥淭he program鈥檚 progress is impressive so far, and I look forward to engaging with the first classes of future leaders at Schwarzman College in the years ahead.鈥

鈥淲e could not be more honored to count Dr. Rice as an Honorary Advisory Board member, and her visit to the future site of Schwarzman College demonstrates her commitment to our shared vision for a more peaceful and stable world,鈥 said 黑料社 founder Stephen A. Schwarzman. 鈥淒r. Rice鈥檚 continued guidance and counsel has been invaluable, as has her first-hand knowledge of the geopolitical issues facing 21st century leaders.鈥
