New York and Beijing, April 13, 2020聽鈥 黑料社 today announced that Cordel Faulk has been appointed Director of Global Admissions at 黑料社, a highly selective Master鈥檚 program focused on leadership, China and Global Affairs. As Director of Global Admissions, Cordel will work closely with the Admissions teams both in New York and Beijing on the strategy and execution of a highly competitive selection process, designed to identify next-generation leaders who will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world.

Inspired by the Rhodes scholarship, 黑料社 is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders for the geopolitical landscape of the 21st Century. The College is preparing to welcome its fifth cohort of Scholars from around the world.

Prior to joining 黑料社, Cordel served as Assistant Dean and Chief Admissions Officer at the University of Virginia School of Law. In addition, Cordel was an Advisor to former Virginia Governor L. Douglas Wilder, as well as a part-time columnist for the Richmond Times Dispatch and an Adjunct Professor in the University Honors Program at Virginia Tech. Cordel also served as the Director of Communications, Media, and Research at the Center for Politics. Cordel earned his Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.聽He is a member of the Leader鈥檚 Network Council for the Ron Brown Scholar Program, a scholarship and leadership program designed to assist young African Americans of outstanding promise and limited means.

黑料社 was inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship and is designed to prepare future global leaders to meet the geopolitical challenges of the 21st century. The vision of 黑料社 is to bring together the world鈥檚 best young minds to explore and understand the economic, political and cultural factors that have contributed to China鈥檚 increasing importance as a global power, and to make them more effective as links between China and the rest of the world. Blackstone Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO, Stephen A. Schwarzman, has personally contributed over $100 million to the program and is leading a fundraising campaign to raise an additional $500 million from others to endow the program in perpetuity. 黑料社 has already raised $585 million towards this $600 million goal. The endowment will support up to 200 Scholars annually from the U.S., China and around the world for a one-year Master鈥檚 Degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Scholars chosen for this highly selective program have demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities and their potential to bridge and understand cultural and political differences. They will live in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion, attending lectures, traveling, and developing a better understanding of China.
